Everyone has their own idea of what "the best" place to do the Van Life or Boondock. Here are several different articles on many different suggestions!
Boondockers Welcome - What a MUST-HAVE app! What a game changer this is. You go onto their site, find an area you want to go to, then find people who are hosting boon docking sites, put in your request for the date you desire, stay free of charge! The hosts do ask that you leave them a good review as payment.
Camping World - This link takes you to an article that tells you about 5 states with several great Boondocking spots.
Camp Addict - This is an article of 5 Best Boondocking sights for Nervous Newbies!
Campendium - This article is about the Top 10 Places to Boondock in the US. They let you know the best seasons to go to the recommended spots and they add some nice pictures.
Trips to Discover - This article gives you their take on the 8 best boon docking destinations.
Drivin' and Vibin' - Their list of Top 20 Free Camping sites across America. This list is relatively new, published in December of 2021.
Around the World Guys - This is a great article about 8 Safe Places to Boondock with your Van. These aren't specific to one state, these are in general. The places are major franchises across the US or BLM's. The article is a wealth of information and points out locations that you might never have thought about! Really worth reading!
Motor Biscuit - This article "Skip the RV parks..." gives you a few resources for Boondocking and some great insights.
Legends of America - This is a great website that has tons of practical tips and advice on places to boon dock, dry camp, and so much more. They have an article called Boondocking or Dry Camping... that is loaded with a wealth of information.
Frugal RV Travel - This is a great website for those of you who are on a budget. They offer many articles on different ways to save, different things to do, and different guidelines you will want to follow to stay safe. Affordable Adventure is one place to start on their website where they also have other links.

Department of Natural Resources - For those of you out in Minnesota, this is a great resource that will give you all the places to camp, the safety guidelines, and different rules you need to know.

They created a website to help others get started and they have an web page that is called Boondocking for Beginners. This is a great article and they have a wealth of information scattered throughout their web page.
MotorBiscuit - This is an article called Skip the RV Park by Motorbiscuit. They go over what boon docking is, how much money you can save, the best places to go, and many other things!
Boon Docking Across America - Here is a great article all about boon docking and the "ins" and "outs", the "do's" and "don'ts" that you need to know!
VanWeekend Van Life - This is like a conglomeration of things from articles you can read about van life to items you can buy for van life.
Insider - This is a brutally honest article about one man's experience of a weekend in a luxury van to see if it would be everything he had been dreaming and hoping for. This is a "must read" for those who haven't ventured out yet but have been seriously contemplating it. Always look at both sides of the coin before you fully commit! This is another article by the same man about 10 Things he Wished he knew before spending the weekend in a van.
Van Clan - This is the ultimate article on how to not end up like the guy in the article above. They give you 10 tips on how to be successful in becoming a weekend warrior!
NRS Duct Tape Diaries - This is one of the best spelled out explanations of Van Life, how to do it for weekend warriors, and a very practical look at it. This website loads relatively slow because of some of the pictures, but I found that it was worth it because the advice and tips that they offer were priceless!
Vacay Vans - This link will take you to lots of events throughout the year for Van Lifers, tiny house expos, solo female, RV meetups, and other events. There is also other information on the Home page about tips, personal insights, etc.
Mowgli Adventures - This website has a great article about Van Life for beginners. They have been to many countries and they are able to give great insights! The Fun Sized life! - This article "Trying Van Life for the weekend with kids" goes over some things to think about when you have kids. They also offer advice on how to make money while being in a minivan along with other ideas of how to earn some passive income.
Vanlife customs- Their name says it all! They customize vans for all sorts of lifestyles. If you are wanting a specialized van, then this website is worth checking out!
Freedom Van Go - This is a very practical article about how to make your van your own. They give you lots of things to consider before venturing out on your excursions, things you might want or need, and things that you might not even think about.
Vanlife Basics - Vanlife may be for some, but there are questions you may want to ask yourself before jumping in head first. This website is loaded with a lot of great articles that will definitely benefit you in the long run.
KOA.Com - This is a great article on how to start the Van Life and it also offers some great tips about doing the van life.
Fun Life Crisis - This van life couple offers 50 tips for living on the road.

This older couple are full-time RVers who have been doing this for a couple of years. The husband, Larry, will occasionally put out very helpful "How To" videos. This is his wife, Alice, warning why it is important to have an Emergency Plan if something goes wrong. She is sharing from her heart the tragedy the two of them are currently going through, and all the things she has learned the hard way because she wants others to avoid the hardships they are going through. Larry is not seen because he is hospitalized right now in serious condition. I highly recommend this video for those who are in full time Van life, Boon dockers, stealth campers or any other Nomad lifestyle.
This video has some great proactive tips on how to prepare for van life before you can actually start. Sometimes there are circumstances that hinder us from moving out right away, like waiting for the kids to graduate or getting your significant other on board. So even if you don't have your van yet, these are some free ideas to get moving in that direction.
Foresty Forest has a huge following on YouTube and offers lots of ideas, helpful hints, and places to go and stay.
